I have tried five different types of litter with my new kittens. Luckily they’re pretty easy and we’ll go in almost anything. However, I have narrowed it down to Tuft & Paw. Why? I love that it’s larger and does not track very much at all. It has less tracking than all other types that I have tried. I also love how it clumps and that the litter box itself stays dry underneath the litter. I did use the unscented and I’ve switched to the lavender and that has made a big difference, bringing it to be my number one favorite litter!

Butterscotch tiger-stripe Savannah, 17, seems to love scooting her rear into a corner of the litter box and raising it to her content as she pees in the same place time after time. With other litter types, that was the worst thing for scooping and cleaning. However, with this litter, it's simple to just scoop a bit of not-clumped litter over and around Pee Mountain and it loosens easily. I am a fan.
Little tiger-stripe over white Biscuit, 2.5 years old and still very much a kitten in so many ways, is fastidious about her litter box rituals. First it's a massive stir to arrange things to her liking. Then a major butt hike for the deliverables, followed by thorough raking and scraping to cover. This litter works perfectly for that. I appreciate that though I can still hear when she's going about her chores, it is so much quieter than the pine horse-bedding pellets we had before. You couldn't even hold a conversation while that was going on!
I have flushed smallish amounts of this really great cat litter several times and that seems to work just fine. The odor control is so effective though,that I often let it go a few days before scooping and in those cases I just bag it for the garbage.

I do love the odor control and the flushability of the litter. It is a bit difficult to sift with my scoop. But that could be due to the fact that my lovely kitten has decided to sit on my back and peer over my shoulder while I am cleaning the box.

How long does one bag last?
Generally, one bag will last for one month with one cat. Keep in mind other factors may influence your usage such as the size of your litter box, how deep you fill it, and how often your cat(s) use it.
What are the ingredients?
In true tuft + paw fashion, we put your cat first. Our formula is simple with five safe ingredients: Soybean Fiber, Corn Starch, Corn Flour, Guar Gum, Charcoal.
If it clumps, then how is it also flushable?
A small amount of liquid will cause it to harden slightly, but submerged in water it completely breaks down
Is it septic safe?
We have lots of septic customers, it works fine so long as you flush in small amounts at a time, it completely breaks down in water.
My plumber said never to flush anything
It disintegrates completely in water so it's fine unlike other "flushable" products that are just marketed like that.
I thought that you weren’t supposed to flush cat waste because of Toxoplasmosis?

Does this work with self-cleaning litter boxes?
Unfortunately the pellets don't work with most auto litter boxes

Does Really Great Cat Litter expire?
When unopened, Really Great Litter lasts 24 months from its production date, as indicated on the bag. Once opened, the bag should be used as soon as possible to benefit from peak performance. Store sealed in a dry, cool, and ventilated space.
