I thought SmartCat litter was great until I started finding the sand-like grit in my bed! Tuft & Paw Really Great Cat odor control litter is so much better! Low tracking, nice clumping and my 2 cats had no difficulty adjusting to the change. I do notice a slight off odor coming from the litter box which is near a radiator, and I’m thinking the heat has something to do with that. I’m going to try the lavender to see if that is better. Still, happy I made the switch!

So honest review - I have tried TONS of different cat litters. I have 2 cats and litter used to be all over my house. This litter does not track NEARLY AS MUCH as any other litter. Yes - there are a few pieces around the box but NONE beyond that. The smell is very nice - very muted and controls odors well (I have the odor control type). I do find that it takes a bit longer to scoop to get the unused litter to fall through the scooper but it is likely just the size of the holes on my scooper. It is more expensive which is why I gave 4 not 5 stars. However, I will keep using it!

This is the most disgusting smelling kitty litter I have ever used. The charcoal does not cover or eliminate or control odor at all. The tofu litter itself does not have a bad smell, different, but not bad. Once used by our cat, however, the smell is pungent and revolting, it makes me want to vomit, it is so nauseous!! And the scent travels! Even though this litter has significantly less dust, it is still dusty and the tofu/urine smell permeates the whole second floor of our house. After a day the gross smell has traveled down the stairs to our kitchen on the first floor. Yuck!
We are using this litter in a Litter Robot 4 at a 15 minute cycle time. So the urine soaked tofu is being moved to the bin and is not even open to the air for that long. The shape of the tofu makes it drop half of the litter when filled, so it is only half full during the day, but again it cycles and I don't understand why it is so noxious.
The litter hasn't tracked the 20 feet to the stairs yet, after 10 days it covers the three feet by the litter robot, so kicking it rather than tracking it.
The clumping seems to be working, but the small bits that get peed on don't cycle out and it falls through the scoop with holes big enough for this litter shape which may be why the tofu/urine smell is so terrible.
I don't think the flush-ability is useful for me as we are renting a house with a septic system and I don't want to ruin anything.
I bought this for the anti-tracking, but am getting rid of…

How long does one bag last?
Generally, one bag will last for one month with one cat. Keep in mind other factors may influence your usage such as the size of your litter box, how deep you fill it, and how often your cat(s) use it.
What are the ingredients?
In true tuft + paw fashion, we put your cat first. Our formula is simple with five safe ingredients: Soybean Fiber, Corn Starch, Corn Flour, Guar Gum, Charcoal.
If it clumps, then how is it also flushable?
A small amount of liquid will cause it to harden slightly, but submerged in water it completely breaks down
Is it septic safe?
We have lots of septic customers, it works fine so long as you flush in small amounts at a time, it completely breaks down in water.
My plumber said never to flush anything
It disintegrates completely in water so it's fine unlike other "flushable" products that are just marketed like that.
I thought that you weren’t supposed to flush cat waste because of Toxoplasmosis?

Does this work with self-cleaning litter boxes?
Unfortunately the pellets don't work with most auto litter boxes

Does Really Great Cat Litter expire?
When unopened, Really Great Litter lasts 24 months from its production date, as indicated on the bag. Once opened, the bag should be used as soon as possible to benefit from peak performance. Store sealed in a dry, cool, and ventilated space.
