- JQJaden Q.Verified ReviewerHow old is your cat? 3-7How many cats live in your home? 12 days agoHow old is your cat? 3-7How many cats live in your home? 1ReviewingReally Great Cat LitterRated 1 out of 5 starsDisappointing Odor Control and Frustrating to Scoop
For the price of this litter, I expected much better performance. The odor control is practically nonexistent. In fact, Iβve found that the smell is significantly worse than with traditional cat litter. Even when I scoop the litter box every single day, it still stinks!
Another major frustration is how difficult and time-consuming it is to scoop. Because of the shape of the litter, I have to constantly shake and sift the scoop just to separate the clean litter from the waste. What should be a quick, simple task takes forever unless I want to throw away a bunch of perfectly good litter.
I really wanted to like this product, especially considering its premium price, but Iβm extremely disappointed. Between the poor odor control and the hassle of scooping, I genuinely feel that traditional litter performs better at a fraction of the cost.

I like all of them but especially the lavender and multi cat.

I have always used the lavender (which I love)! .... But I have 2 cats, so I am going to see how the OdorStop does. I wish it was also flushable, but I'm looking forward to trying it! Do you guys put it into a bag and tie it shut before putting it in the trashcan? I know it's going to be great though! Can't wait to get it in the mail! Thank you guys so much......for a first time cat owner that has had my 2 cats now for 5 months, I have never used a different litter. I'm glad I started with Tuft & Paw and didn't have to go through the tracking of the other brands. I have a pretty small town home, and if any litter does get out of the box, it may be only a few pieces around the box, but it is rare. I LOVE IT! Ralphie (in picture) and Phoebe say THANK YOU!
T&Tuft & Paw3 days agoRalphie and Phoebe have officially made our day. We're so happy to hear Tuft & Paw has been such a great fit for your first cats and that you've been able to avoid the endless tracking that comes with many traditional litters.
For disposal, many cat parents prefer to scoop waste into a small bag and tie it shut before tossing it in the trash to help keep odors contained. We're excited to hear what you think once your box arrives.
Shelly, thank you so much for the 5-star review and for being such loyal customers. We can't wait to hear how the OdorStop performs for you!
- KWKarri W.How old is your cat? 3-7How many cats live in your home? 24 days agoHow old is your cat? 3-7How many cats live in your home? 2ReviewingReally Great Cat LitterRated 2 out of 5 starsGreat concept, didnβt work for us
Really wanted this to be the βmagicβ litter of our dreams! Cats transitioned without issue. But odor control and tracking were no match for our gingers. Thoroughly cleaning the litter proved difficult. Urine clumped- but all βpoo piecesβ did not, which unfortunately, meant removing more litter.
T&Tuft & Paw3 days agoKarri, we really appreciate you giving us a shot and being so honest about how it went with your gingers. We hear you on the odor control and tracking not meeting expectations, and we're sorry the litter didn't turn out to be that magic solution you were hoping for.
Every cat situation is different, and it sounds like your crew needed something with a different performance profile. For tracking, a high-sided litter box can help keep more pellets contained, though a few escapees are still possible with enthusiastic diggers. The good news is that even with a bit of tracking, many cat parents find pellets easier to manage than traditional litter. For tougher odor situations, we recommend trying our OdorStop formula. Best for strong odors, multi-cat homes, or higher-traffic litter boxes.

FAQs
How long does one bag last?
Generally, one bag will last for one month with one cat. Keep in mind other factors may influence your usage such as the size of your litter box, how deep you fill it, and how often your cat(s) use it.
What are the ingredients?
In true tuft + paw fashion, we put your cat first. Both Really Great Cat Litter formulas are simple with five safe ingredients.
Really Great Cat Litter, Charcoal: Soybean Fiber, Calcium Carbonate, Corn Starch, Pea Fiber, Activated Carbon.
Really Great Cat Litter, Lavender: Soybean Fiber, Calcium Carbonate, Corn Starch, Pea Fiber, Dried Lavender.
If it clumps, then how is it also flushable?
A small amount of liquid will cause it to harden slightly, but submerged in water it completely breaks down
Is it septic safe?
We have lots of septic customers, it works fine so long as you flush in small amounts at a time, it completely breaks down in water.
My plumber said never to flush anything
It disintegrates completely in water so it's fine unlike other "flushable" products that are just marketed like that.
I thought that you weren't supposed to flush cat waste because of Toxoplasmosis?
Toxoplasmosis is incredibly rare for indoor cats as it's obtained by eating infected rodents or birds: https://www.tuftandpaw.com/blogs/cat-guides/toxoplasmosis-in-cats-everything-you-need-to-know But still a good idea for folks to check with their local municipalities to confirm restrictions.
Does this work with self-cleaning litter boxes?
Unfortunately the pellets don't work with most auto litter boxes
Our best seller Cove is a simple, all-in-one litter box that pairs well with Really Great Litter.
Does Really Great Cat Litter expire?
When unopened, Really Great Litter lasts 24 months from its production date, as indicated on the bag. Once opened, the bag should be used as soon as possible to benefit from peak performance. Store sealed in a dry, cool, and ventilated space.
