Haven Litter Box Enclosure

Came missing hardware. Hardware replacement was sent. It was incorrect. Could not have assembled it by myself and it took my handyman two visits to figure out. ($135.00). Needs shelf lining to capture urine spray (I used one from elfa shelf liner.) Cat likes it. Have to use odor eliminator since litter box is enclosed. It looks beautiful, however, and since it cost so much, and I went to a lot of trouble to assemble it and I'd discarded the packing materials, I'm forcing myself to like it.

I got the Rifiuti a few months back to help stop litter tracking and liked it a lot. I got the Haven for my bigger 13 lb cat since the space is larger without the pullout shelf. Unlike the Rifiuti which comes preassembled sans legs, the Haven comes as four different shipments (& additional boxes for the litterbox & scoop/screws).

I think T&P is between design iterations because I got instructions for a V1 (with pegs) but my actual kit did not come with pegs and only some sides had holes for pegs (as an fyi you do not need the pegs to assemble). Some of the assembly steps were unclear (especially considering the entryway portion). I would have liked it if the smaller assembly parts were labeled in the kit and in the actual steps because the manual leaves it up to your judgement to discern between all the different screws. You definitely need another person with you to help assemble this box.

Overall, it works and looks nice (only my smaller 9 lb cat uses it but at least its being used!) and keeps litter tracking to a minimum. I would have liked it if the white perforated part of this Haven was able to open as well as the bottom door so I could put in my existing litterbox instead of having to use the litterbox the Haven came with and to make it easier to scoop. It is more annoying to scoop the litter out compared to the Rifiuti. If you have a smaller cat (<10 lbs) and you are debating between the two, I recommend the Rifiuti over the Haven.

Amazing!

It's a really solid piece of furniture, it is very substantial and you do see where the money goes. It was quite a thing to assemble, not helped by the fact that the metal piece arrived improperly bent (and prevents the locking mechanism from working properly).

Overall, it's good, it's not quite as good as it should be for the money, but it is good. I hope Tuft & Paw continues to work on their product quality, I have quite a bit of their cat furniture and it's all so close to being really good but always has small manufacturing defects.

My review will be similar to others - I appreciate the overall look and design of the Litterbox enclosure, but the assembly was as complicated as others have noted. For the cost, it should really come at least partially assembled

Other cons: the metal part (white) of the facade was warped upon arrival and difficult to **** in. You must assemble with a 2nd person

The screws come in little baggies, that are not really labeled, so you need to really pay attention

The packaging was so complicated we didn’t feel like calling them about the warped to return it, but it’s frustrating that it is not aligned as it was in the pictures

Pros:

Once it all came together, it looks great and our cat uses it and (I think) loves the privacy

The Litterbox, scoop, and sweeper/dustpan set that come with it are nice quality and work well
