Your cat's dietary needs will depend on several factors incuding the cauase of their megacolon, their age and their specific digestion. Some foods work well for one patient with megacolon, but not another.
We want a diet that is highly digestible and contains both soluble and insoluble fibre.
Ideally, a wet diet is fed as the more moisture in the gut the better.
We also want to encourage water drinking, which can man using a water fountain and adding water to meals.
So, if he can have a 100% wet diet, this works well for many cats.
